The Penn Center for Innovation (PCI) helps to translate Penn discoveries and ideas into new products and businesses for the benefit of society. It does this by facilitating technology development connections between Penn and the private sector. Whether the end result is a technology license, an R&D alliance, the formation of a new venture or an integrated combination of any or all of these activities, PCI serves as a dedicated one-stop shop for commercial partnering with Penn.

IP Group

IP Group was set up with a mission to evolve great ideas from our partner institutions, into world-changing businesses. We achieve this by systematically helping to create, build and support outstanding intellectual property-based companies. The Group pioneered the concept of the long-term partnership model with UK universities and has spent many years honing a unique approach to building businesses and providing support along the journey from “cradle to maturity”. IP Group’s US operation, which is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, is committed to transitioning the Group’s successful UK IP commercialization model to the US market. The Group currently has five partnership agreements in place with US universities but is also able to identify and develop early-stage technologies from a select group of US Department of Energy Laboratories through an initiative with FedIMPACT.
